Hair Transplantation Techniques
FUT Technique in Hair Transplantation
The FUT procedure was the most popular and widely used hair transplantation method up until the early 2000s. Later, as technology advanced and other approaches emerged, the rate of utilization fell.
The hair follicles to be utilized for transplantation are clipped and taken from the neck area between the two ears using the FUT technique, one of the earliest hair transplantation techniques. The nurses extract the hair follicles from the region and relocate them to the treated area once the three square centimeters of skin layer have been entirely cut and removed. The sliced region is sutured after the procedure is finished. A suture scar is left in the incision region at the conclusion of this operation, which heals more slowly than in other procedures. Since all of the hair follicles are cut and removed at once, this approach has the advantage of speeding up hair transplanting. However, because of the prolonged healing time and scarring, it is no longer as popular as it once was.
FUE Technique in Hair Transplantation
The FUE Technique has been the most popular and advanced hair transplantation technique for the past 15 years. Hair follicles are removed one by one from the nape region using the FUE Technique. A specific solution is used to keep the hair follicles that have been manually or with the aid of a micromotor device removed in a chilly environment. The hair follicles are put in the region once the transplant recipient site has been prepped.
The processing time varies depending on the number of hair follicles that need to be transplanted because the FUE Technique places each hair follicle one at a time. Although the surgery takes longer with this approach, it is favored since the healing process happens more quickly and there is no scar left over after the operation.
DHI Hair Transplant
The Direct Hair Transplant (DHI) procedure is a direct hair transplant, as the name implies. It is among the most recent hair transplant techniques. The DHI approach is utilized in conjunction with the FUE approach. The DHI procedure involves transplanting hair follicles that were individually harvested using the FUE technique. This approach differs from the FUE method in that, with the use of a special pen, both grooving and hair transplanting are carried out simultaneously. This cuts down on processing time and boosts success rates. This approach also has the benefit of allowing for frequent and dense seeding. In addition to being applied to the places where hair loss is observed, it is also utilized as a treatment for tightening hair.
If there aren’t enough hair follicles in the donor location, however, further extensive transplantation won’t be viable in cases of full hair loss.
