First day in the hospital
Our patients arrived early hours to hospital in order to undergo several tests to determine what kind of treatment is the best for their cases.
The first step is a complete medical examination, which includes past and current medical history. Surgeon pays close attention to our patient’s struggles with their weight and your attempts to lose weight. What did you try in the past? What worked and what did not? Surgeon will test you for type-2 diabetes, sleep apnea and heart disease – all of which can have an impact on the surgery and your recovery.
Here you can also see our patients went under blood tests, BMI calculations and x-rays (we were not able to with them during x-rays), which are all part of routine pre-surgery testing.
Your heart is important to surgery too. Because any surgical procedure and recovery puts some stress on your heart, surgeon does an EKG to test that it is strong enough to handle surgery.
Remember, these examinations and tests are extremely important to your health during surgery and also for recovery. You must be completely honest and provide as much information as possible to ensure the best possible results, ask help from our translator at all points.
These tests help our surgeon confirm that your condition makes you a good candidate for weight loss surgery.
Surgery day and after the surgery
After a long day in the clinic, surgery takes place early next day. You sleep 3 or 4 nights in the hospital depending on the type of weight loss surgery.
Our patients travel back to their home country directly after hospital stay but if they like they can also stay in a 5 star hotel close by the clinic. During your final visit to hospital, doctor will explain you everything about what to eat and what to avoid.
